“2007 – A bank needed to feel comfortable on a lending secured against buildings and stock. A local agent easily valued the property but the stock asset gave the bank considerable concern. The company asked BTC to value the stock and submit an independent valuation. The valuation submitted was 65% of the book value and BTC expressed their willing to underwrite their valuation. The bank had taken a view that the stock should be valued at only 10% and so the net difference was sufficient for an offered bridging facility whilst the stock was turned to cash.”
